Hello.

My name is Sarah Whitley Carrier. I currently work as a Research and Instruction Librarian at Wilson Special Collections Library. Here I support research related to the history, people, and culture of North Carolina, engaging with a wide variety of communities to meet their information needs. I especially enjoy providing instruction to undergraduates and K-12 groups with a focus on primary source literacy. My professional philosophy centers innovative, inclusive, critical pedagogical approaches to special collections instruction and community engagement. My work emphasizes the centrality of archives and special collections to inform the present while building historical consciousness.

This website features posts about some of my own independent research and varied interests and this work does not represent the views of my employer, nor are these posts a part of my job responsibilities or produced in any formal work capacity.
